What is Midnight Whispers?

Midnight Whispers is a exclusive edition box that has two types of boxes:

  • Midnight Whispers- Paranormal/Fantasy Romance box that includes special edition hardcover books from your favorite Authors.
  • Roses & Thorns- Contemporary + Dark Romance box that includes special edition hardcover books from your favorite Authors.

We are not a subscription box and open to everyone. Please note, all of our books are hardcovers and boxes can contain 1-3 books and be priced accordingly. 

What is the difference between the Midnight Whispers and the Roses & Thorns Box?

Each box contains Exclusive Edition hardcover books.

Midnight Whispers books featured will be New Adult (NA) or adult fantasy and paranormal books within the romance genre.

Roses & Thorns books featured will be New Adult (NA) or adult contemporary, dark romance, rom coms, sports romance, etc. books.

Are you a subscription?

No! We are not a recurring subscription. If a box is desired, it is a first come, first serve purchase for our consumers. If we do sell out of a box, those that purchased the first in the series will get early access to the second/third, etc. 

Your card will not get charged without you manually purchasing a box.

What's the best way to keep updated?

We regularly post announcments on our Instagram page and within the Dragon's den in Facebook. You can also subscribe to our email newsletters where we will send important updates regarding sales and other news. 

What is the Dragon's Hoard?

The Dragon's Hoard is where all of our exclusive edition pre-ordered books go after the sale period closes. There you can find a waitlist if you missed the pre-order period to join and get notified for any leftover stock. 

Please note, signing up for the waitlist does not guarantee you will receive an email to purchase any overstock copies.

How should I take care of my books?

Remove plastic wrapping from books upon arrival. Books can become moldy under plastic wrapping if not removed
- Store books in a clean, dry area
- Keep books out of direct sunlight or heat (excessive light or heat can damage colors)
- Store books away from smoking or cooking
- Store books away from excessive dampness or humidity
- Keep books clean and dust free
Feel free to read your special editions! Please note, normal wear and tear can occur with your special editions such as color changes, foiling or coverings wearing off through touching, and edges changing color dependent on lighting and storage**

What if my apparel item doesn’t fit correctly?

As our apparel are custom-printed, we are unable to offer size exchanges. Our sweaters have an attached size chart with each listing.  Please refer to our size chart before placing your order to ensure the best fit. If you need assistance with sizing, feel free to reach out, and we’ll be happy to help.

 

 

Can I put two different books or boxes on one order?

All boxes ship separately. Please make a single order for each box.

What types of features will an Exclusive Edition Hardcover have?

Books will vary in design as they are each unique. Books may contain some of the following: Hardcover designs, dust covers, reversible dustcovers, interior artwork, new interior formatting, endpaper artwork, author signature, author letter, foiling, UV spot, embossing, sprayed edges, digital edges, stenciled edges.

I would love to be a featured author! How can I do this?

We love showcasing new or experienced authors for our boxes!

Please note, while we would love to feature every author interested in being a part of our box, our spots are limited as we only release books every 2-3 months. Submission of an interest form does not guarantee that we will choose your book for a special edition box.

I have a book/series/Author that I want to suggest!

We love hearing your suggestions! Please make sure your book falls under the new adult(NA) or adult category. We have two forms.

One for romantasy/paranormal romance that is featured in Midnight Whispers HERE.

I'm an author and would love to contribute a signed book/e-book/merch item for a giveaway on instagram/facebook/tik tok!

We LOVE allowing authors to showcase their books, announce new releases, and run free giveaways through instagram, tik tok, or facebook. If you are interested in collaborating with us on a giveaway on a certain platform, please fill out this form.

What is the Dragon's Hoard?

Dragon's Hoard is our area for overstock copies or scratch and dent copies. All sales final. Limit of 1 Overstock book set per order. Any orders containing 2 of the same books will be canceled and refunded. 

Payment

How much does a box cost?

Boxes will vary in pricing and is dependent on the size and length of the book along with Exclusive Extras (stenciled edges, extra foiling, extensive art, etc.)  plus exact shipping to your region/country for one book. These are not subscriptions and you will not be charged automatically. 

Can I purchase multiple boxes in one order?

No. There are a few reasonings behind this decision.

1- Shipping won't be accurately calculated

2- Sometimes books released at the same time don't arrive at the same time depending on customizations.

 

At this time, unless stated at the start of a sale and on the product page, we do not limit how many boxes you can purchase, however they MUST be purchased individually in separate orders with separate shipping.

 

Can I place an order without creating an account?

Yes. You can place an order as a guest with no obligation to create an account.

 

We do recommend that you create an account, however, if you’d like to check your order history and have your shopping basket items and payment details saved for next time. 

Where is my order confirmation?

This is automatically sent to your email address when you place an order. If you haven’t received your order confirmation within 24 hours, please get in touch at info@midnightwhispersbox.com just in case there’s a problem with your order. Please check your mailbox’s spam or junk folder before contacting in case the order confirmation has been diverted there.

How much is shipping?

Shipping is determined by weight, volume, and size of the box. To calculate estimated shipping fees, add the items to your cart and move through the checkout process. Prior to payment, the estimated shipping will be provided. 

How do I cancel my order?

Sorry, all purchases are final. We do not allow cancellations or refunds. Returns made without authorization or knowledge will not be eligible for a refund.

Where do boxes ship from?

Boxes are shipped from North Carolina, United States.

How can I change my shipping address?

Are you wanting to change your address to a different country? STOP. Email info@midnightwhispersbox.com as the steps below will not work. 

As soon as your address changes, please ensure you adjust it per unfulfilled order. 

Changing your shipping address is easy! There are 2 ways to do it:
 
1. ORDER CONFIRMATION PAGE: Right after you order, you've noticed the address isn't correct. Never fear, corrections are easy! Right after checkout, you will see a button right under your shipping address that shows 'Update Address'. This will allow you to make any corrections as needed.
 
2. ORDER CONFIRMATION EMAIL:  This is the email that is sent to you after you have purchased a box. Steps to change it are below:
1. Find your email order confirmation
2. Click the button that says 'view your order'
3. This will route you to the order status page. Once there, click 'Update Address' button near the shipping address. 
 
OR
 
1. Find your email order confirmation
2. Navigate to the "Customer Information" section 
3. Click 'Update Address' under the current shipping address to make any corrections as needed
(please note, on older emails, this may not be visible on the confirmation email)
 

Please note that our policy does not allow changes to the shipping address to a different recipient. This policy helps us ensure the security and accuracy of our orders.

Please email our customer service team at info@midnightwhispersbox.com if you need further help. Please note, your address must be changed for each order so that it ships to the correct address.

What happens if my box is lost or stolen?

Lost or Stolen Package Policy

While we take every precaution to ensure that your package arrives safely and on time, we understand that occasionally things may go wrong. This policy outlines the steps we take to address lost or stolen packages and ensure our customers' satisfaction.

Check the Tracking Information:

Verify the delivery status using the tracking number provided in your shipment confirmation email.
If the status shows "Delivered" but you have not received the package, please check around your delivery location and with neighbors or building management. Please reach out to your local post office and/or the shipping provider before sending an email to our customer support team. 


Contact Us:

If you still cannot locate your package, contact our Customer Support team within 7 days of the estimated delivery date.
Provide your order number, tracking number, and any relevant details regarding your missing package.

Please contact us within 10 days if your tracking shows delivered but you have not received your box. This is a requirement so that we can assess our stock in order to offer a replacement if stock allows or issue a full refund. 

 

Limitations:
Please note the following limitations to our Lost or Stolen Package Policy:

Incorrect Address:

  • We are not responsible for packages delivered to an incorrect address provided by the customer.


Extended Delivery Period:

  • Reports made more than 30 days after the estimated delivery date may not be eligible for a replacement or refund.

Repeated Incidents:

  • Customers who experience repeated incidents of lost or stolen packages may be required to choose alternative delivery options or may have limited eligibility for replacements or refunds.

Preventative Measures:
To help prevent future loss or theft, consider the following tips:

Safe Delivery Location:

  • Use a secure delivery address, such as a workplace or a location with a doorman or concierge service.
  • Provide specific delivery instructions, if possible, for a secure drop-off location.

Sign Up for Delivery Notifications:

  • Enable text or email alerts from the shipping carrier to receive real-time updates on your package's status.
    Package Security:
  • Install a security camera or a video doorbell to monitor deliveries.

When will my order arrive?

Most of our orders are pre-orders unless it's listed under the Dragon's Den. The preorder shipping timeframe is listed on the product when purchasing. It is also required to check the box when checking out that you understand the shipping timeframe. Please note, occasionally, boxes will be delayed due to issues outside of our control. 


Domestic Shipping Information

Domestic shipping typically takes 1-7 business days, depending on your location and when your order is picked up. Please note the following important details about our shipping process:

Shipping Timeframe: The shipping timeframe begins once your package is en route and has received its first scan by the carrier.

 International Shipping Information

International shipping generally takes 2-6 weeks, depending on your location and when your order is picked up. Please note the following important details about our shipping process:

Shipping Timeframe: The shipping timeframe begins once your package is en route and has received its first scan by the carrier.

The above estimates can range greatly during times of heavy shipments such as holidays, other peak seasons, and any other global factors that are outside of our control. 

Do you ship internationally?

We proudly ship to Canada + 55 countries! Please note, international shipping varies but we do strive to ensure we choose the best shipping partners to keep it as affordable as possible. 

All international customers are responsible for any duties, taxes, customs fees, VAT, or additional shipping partner fees upon delivery. Please note that Midnight Whispers is not responsible for these additional charges and they are not included in the purchase price or shipping fees. Please be aware that if a package is returned due to non payment, the customer will be responsible for any reshipment fees. No refunds will be provided to returned boxes due to unpaid customs/VAT fees. 

Please note, international shipping has risen in costs recently and a shipping consolidation service may be the best option for multiple orders.

Are there any VAT or customs fees?

International Shipping Charges and Responsibilities
Based on the laws and regulations in your country, you may be obligated to cover additional charges related to customs or value-added tax (VAT). Please be aware that these charges are beyond our control. We are dedicated to accurately completing all required documentation to minimize any complications during the shipping process. However, customers are responsible for any customs fees incurred.

Additionally, your bank may apply a nominal fee for purchases made from a foreign country. This fee is not associated with Midnight Whispers, so please direct any inquiries regarding it to your bank. Occasionally, certain shipping partners may impose additional delivery fees or charges that are also beyond our control or knowledge.

Past Boxes

Can I buy any of your past books or boxes?

We have waiting lists for each box after the sales close for any scratch and dent or leftover sales. Please make sure you sign up for the waitlist for your chance to purchase any extra copies.

Typically, we have a limited amount of overstock or scratch and dent books that we will be able to release for sale about 2 months after all of the original pre-orders have shipped out. Sometimes you can succesfully purchase past books in those sales however quantities will always be limited. 

We always announce leftover sales via emails and on our social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook.

 

Will you reprint any of your books?

Unfortunately, the answer is typically no. This is usually due to Author contract obligations or our own limitations. We sometimes have spare books we sell in our overstock or leftover sales, so keep an eye on any announcements on Instagram or our newsletters. 

 

On the off chance we are able to provide a reprint, we will strive to provide several months of notice.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

We do not allow cancellations or refunds. By checking the box during the ordering process, you agree to this policy. This policy is also listed within our policies, FAQs, and on each product page.

Chargeback Policy

A credit card payment dispute, often referred to as a "chargeback," is a formal process that allows a credit card holder (the consumer) to dispute a charge made to their credit card account. This process is typically initiated when the cardholder believes that a transaction on their credit card statement is incorrect or unauthorized.

Chargebacks are intended to protect consumers from fraudulent or incorrect charges. However, they should not be abused as a means to avoid legitimate payments.

Handling Chargebacks

If we receive a chargeback or dispute, we will cancel and refund all outstanding orders linked to the same bank card to ensure that fraudulent activity is not occurring. In the event of a chargeback, future purchases will be unable to be made using the same account or bank card.

Can I return or exchange a book?

We are unable to accept or process returns or exchanges at this time.

Unauthorized Returns

Returns made without prior authorization will not be eligible for a refund or exchange.

My book has arrived but it’s not as I expected due to damage. What can I do?

DAMAGES

We are so sorry to hear your box or book arrived damaged! Our fulfillment fairies work hard in inspecting each individual book but please know, interior inspections are not able to be performed.  We acknowledge that mistakes or incidents may occur in inspection, handling, or shipping. Also, please realize shipping and handling is outside of our control though we package each box with care (bubble wrap + shredded paper).

In the event you received a damaged book, please email us at Info@midnightwhispersbox.com within 14 days of delivery with a photo, measurements and description of the damage to obtain assistance. Please allow 4 weeks prior to reaching out if your delivery is missing.  We review each concern individually and will assist where able. Please note, Midnight Whispers is unable to assist if a box tracking number shows that it was delivered. Please contact your local postal office for help. Please note, we are only able to accept exchange or return requests within the 14 days from the date you received your order, indicated by your tracking information. 

Items below DO qualify as damage:

  • Split spine
  • Torn/missing pages affecting readability of the book 
  • Torn or severe crease in endpapers
  • Extreme blurriness of edges
  • Tear/rip/cuts on the front of the book or dust jacket larger than 1cm
  • Large scratches or cuts on the front cover (Jacket or hardcover) 
  • Water damage
  • Defects from manufacturing (large amount of missing foil, missing embossing, etc.)
  • Heavy creasing on dust jackets 20mm or more
  • Crushed edges or corners 15mm or more in size
  • Large dents 15mm or more in size
  • Missing an author signature when it should have one
  • Misaligned sprayed edges 5mm or more

Items below do NOT qualify for replacement:

  • Loose dust jackets
  • Light scratches, white spots, or marks on the back of the book/jacket
  • Minimal creasing of dust jacket less than 20mm
  • Slightly faded or minor areas of missing foil finishes
  • Minor scuffing on the edge
  • White spots or minor scratches/marks on the top or bottom edge of the book
  • Slightly blurred stenciled/sprayed/digital edges
  • Slight missing of foil on foiled edges
  • Slightly wavy pages
  • Minor page bleeding 
  • Creasing or folding on the top or bottom of the book spine or dust jacket or at the corners
  • Ripped/damaged blank pages
  • Misaligned sprayed edges 4mm or less

Please note, some finishes show more manufacturing wear that are considered normal during the printing process:

Metallic edges or dust jackets tend to show and be more prone to scratching

Paper variations or cutting marks on the edges during manufacturing (underneath sprayed edges)

Minor misalignment of tip-ins - These are added after the book is bound so it can be common for these to be tilted slightly or off centered. 

Please remember that the listed criteria are provided for general guidance, and each claim will be carefully reviewed on a case-by-case basis. All returns/exchanges will be at the discretion of Midnight Whispers customer service. 

My Paper Products were damaged during shipping.

Paper products in the box are essentially free goods we provide in addition to the Exclusive Edition. If these are damaged and the reader would like replacements, please reach out and we can ship them if the reader desires at a small shipping cost if we have additional items. Paper products may include bookmarks, art prints, stickers, etc. outside of the actual book. Bookplates will be replaced if damaged or missing.

Why isn't my discount code working?

Book pre-order discounts can only be used on your first purchase. 

Merchandise

How do I take care of my new clothing item?

T-Shirts:

  • Turn the shirt inside out before washing to protect the design from friction and pilling
  • Wash with similar colors on a gentle or delicate cycle. Do not bleach
  • Use cold water to minimize the risk of fading and damage to the lettering
  • Avoid fabric softeners and dryer sheets and tumble dry on low heat. 
  • For extra protection, place the shirt in a mesh laundry bag

 

Embroidered Sweaters:

  • Turn the clothing inside out to protect the embroidery. Avoid washing with other clothing, especially items with zippers or buttons, which can pull on the stitches. Use a mild detergent and wash gently. If the embroidery has bright colors, wash in cold water to reduce the chance of colors bleeding. 
  • Drying
    Air drying is best and prevents shrinking. Place the clothing on a flat surface, clothes horse, rack, or airer in a warm, dry environment. If you must use a dryer, use the lowest heat setting and put the clothing inside out. Tumble drying can damage the thread and shorten the life of the fabric, so it's not recommended for elaborate embroidery.
  • Ironing
    Iron the clothing inside out, on the reverse side of the logo, with a soft towel underneath to avoid pressing the stitches flat. Never iron directly over the embroidery, as the heat can damage the thread.

Shipping Timeframes for shop items

T-shirts/ Canvas Totes

These are made to order, print on demand and may ship separately. They take 4-6 days to produce, and then will ship.

 

Embroidered Sweaters

Embroidered sweaters take 3-4 weeks to produce prior to shipping. These are made on demand and may ship separately.

 

Petite Bags

These are made to order and take 2-3 weeks prior to shipment. These are made on demand and may ship separately.

 

Art - Stickers/Prints

These are available at our warehouse and will ship within 2-4 business days. 

Can I change the size or design of my order after placing it?

Once an order is placed, it is immediately sent to our print-on-demand team for processing. Unfortunately, we cannot make changes to the size, design, or any other details after this point. Please double-check your order before confirming to ensure everything is correct. We do provide size charts for our print on demand items. 

What is your return policy for print-on-demand Merchandise or Embroidered apparel?

Since each tee and embroidered apparel is custom-made specifically for your order, we cannot accept returns or exchanges unless the item is defective or damaged. If there is an issue with your order, please contact us with a photo of the defect, and we will assist you.

I received the wrong product
